Nau Mai Ki Hahuru Marae!

Nestled north of Kawerau near the Tarawera River (Te Awa o Te Atua), Hahuru is primarily associated with  hapu of Ngāi Tamarangi, Ngāti Peehi and Ngāti Tūwharetoa ki Kawerau (Bay of Plenty). The sacred ancestral meeting house, is named Hahuru, while our dining hall is called Hinemotu. Connecting back to the Te Arawa waka, the Tarawera River, and the majestic Pūtauaki mountain, our marae holds deep cultural significance.

By offering our marae for hire, we extend a privilege to those seeking to utilize our facilities for events and gatherings. This not only provides a stunning environment for your functions but also contributes towards covering essential utility bills and maintenance costs for the entire complex. We are grateful to all who choose to make use of our space and hope this tradition carries on for generations to come.

We extend a warm welcome to all whanau and manuhiri.
