Ōwhata Marae is more than a place to stay — it is a place of connection, whakapapa, and belonging. Located at Hinemoa Point on the shores of Te Rotorua-nui-a-Kahumatamomoe, our marae stands as a living expression of Ngāti Te Roro o te Rangi.

We uphold tikanga, manaakitanga, and whanaungatanga, ensuring the legacy of our tūpuna Tūtānekai and Hinemoa are respected by all who are welcomed onto our marae.  Nau mai, haere mai!!!

• To book the marae, click on the Request to Book icon on the right side of this page. Choose your preferred dates, share a few details about your booking, and then simply send us your request.

• Before booking Ōwhata marae, you can check out the different hire costs by clicking the following link – Terms & Conditions.

• Once your booking dates are endorsed, you will be emailed the Hire Form for completion and prompt submission.

• To secure your booking, a $500 refundable bond is required upfront. Bank details can be found on the Hire Form.

• A final settlement invoice will be sent to you via email at least 3 weeks before your arrival date.
