Moko marae is located 3 km east of Te Puke on State Highway 2. The primary hapū is Ngāti Moko of Tapuika, which affiliates to the Te Arawa confederation.
The whare tupuna is named Mokotangatakotahi and the wharekai is Te Rauwharangi. The marae connects ancestrally to Te Arawa waka, the maunga Rangiuru and the awa Kaituna.
