Located just outside Rotorua, at Tikitere, Ruamata Marae is home to the primary hapū of Ngāti Te Kanawa of Ngāti Uenukukōpako. Whare tipuna, Uenukukōpako, serves as a vital link to Te Arawa waka and Te Rotorua-nui-a-Kahumatamomoe. Its convenient proximity to Rotorua airport, township, amenities, and cultural sites makes it a preferred choice for hosting wananga, workshops, cultural stays, and special events. While it is a privilege to utilize Ruamata facilities, support in maintaining the premises is appreciated.
Bond Security
- A bond of $200 deposit must be paid immediately to secure a booking
- Bond paid, is additional to hire, and will be deducted from the total marae cost
- All bookings are confirmed on receiving the signed HIre Form, and Bond security
